Narchi Jovic, IBCLC

Narcisa Jovic (Narchi) is an IBCLC, veteran doula, co-founder of doula agency NYC Birth Village, childbirth educator, and mother of three, living on the UWS. She came to US from Romania as a young adult in 2000. Narchi loves to bring the wisdom of life and work experience in guiding new parents through this most special journey of raising a child.

During the lactation consulting sessions Narchi provides hands-on support with latching, breastfeeding positions, troubleshooting of various lactation challenges, as well as guidance on bottle-feeding, pumping, and establishing an appropriate feeding plan. She also loves to share information on newborn behaviors and explore helpful soothing and sleep strategies that can help the family achieve more rest and peace of mind.

As of the fall of 2024, Narchi is proud to join the IBCLC practice of her mentor Cass Cristopher.

Kind words from clients

  • "I cannot stress this enough, having Narchi to help with my initial transition to motherhood - ESPECIALLY LACTATION SUPPORT - was so necessary and smooth. The transition was almost easy with her there to guide both our baby and me. We had minimal issues with breastfeeding and I was able to avoid the common initial pain points (latching, pain, etc.) with her guidance."

  • "Narchi was absolutely wonderful and would definitely recommend her. Though this was second baby and I successfully breastfed my first for 11 months with no issues, our little one was struggling with weight gain in the first week which can be scary and anxiety-producing. I was really committed to breastfeeding and wanted an expert to help. Narchi assuaged many fears and helped create confidence for me and my baby. We have a healthy growing baby girl that is happily 100% breastfed. Narchi was non-judgmental, incredibly kind, and an advocate... helping us w/ the latch, milk supply, weight gain, and overall positions. Totally recommend! Thank you Narchi!!

  • "She is kind, warm and extremely professional and knowledgeable . She is supportive and very attentive- she listens to you but she is also naturally very intuitive. Her help with breastfeeding during postpartum visits was absolutely invaluable. We had two lactation consultants but it was her advice and experience that helped me figure out the low milk supply issue I had. I cannot praise Narchi high enough!"
